Getting to Hotel
The easiest means to access this far-flung corner of Sicily is by car. A rental car gives you freedom to explore surrounding beautiful beaches and Baroque towns. From Catania Airport (CTA), it is 1 hour 30 minutes by taking the A18 motorway in the direction of Syracuse and then taking the state road towards Rosolini and Pachino before getting to Portopalo. Do note that the hotel has no private parking facility attached for its guests; so you have to make your way on the public streets which at times proves daunting in the high season.
Public transportation is feasible but quite time-consuming. One would have to take a bus from Catania Airport to Syracuse or Noto and then one would connect to an infrequent local bus service (run by AST) that travels to Portopalo. This journey may consume over three hours and is definitely not recommended if you have lots of luggage. Noto is the nearest railhead which would still involve further journey by bus or take a heavy pocket pinch for a taxi ride.
